Who else is like me? Big, voluminous hair! It’s a great way to boost your confidence. Im talking beauty salon blowouts with a dryer brush! I’m sure most of us ladies love going to the salon and letting our hairstylist wash and massage our heads under the warm water. Right? It’s a great time to take a couple of hours away and enjoy great conversation and come out of the beauty salon feeling like a brand new woman! However, I Understand that it can be time consuming and if you are like me, taking a couple of hours once or twice a week away from the kids is impossible and it can get pricey. So I’m here to tell you that with a little bit of practice you will be able to style your hair like your stylist at the salon!
Alright! So first thing first. The trick for a great blowout is to wash your hair. You will need to start with clean hair, so shampoo and condition, make sure you wash and get all the products that may be built up from the previous days. This is a great way to prep your hair! After washing your hair use a microfiber towel to remove the excess water. DO NOT rub the towel on your head. Gently pat your hair the towel will absorb most of the water.
Run a wet brush through your hair to remove any knots. I love wet brushes they help prevent tugging, pulling, and damage that can cause split ends. Start at the ends of the hair and work your way up to the root. While your hair is wet add your favorite styling products. I love using a good heat protectant and blow out cream. For todays look I used Monat blow out cream. It’s Vegan, cruelty-free and Naturally based it makes my hair smooth and non frizzy plus it works as a heat protectant as well! Here is the next most important step if you can help it. I usually blowout my hair once MAYBE twice a week. I am very cautious of how much heat I expose my hair to. I have seen so many people say that you should let your hair air dry about 70-80%. I definitely agree and there is a reason for that. It is easier and so much healthier to style and reduces the amount of damage once it’s closer to being dry.
Once you are ready you will want to section the hair into smaller pieces so that it dries faster and you aren’t holding the heat on it longer than you have to. Brush through each section and Repeat throughout the rest of the hair until it is all dry.
On the top layer I like to grab the front part (bangs) and pull forward as I’m drying. This will add so much volume, because of the cream I used I had so much volume without adding hairspray, however if you would like even more volume add hairspray to the roots after is it dry. It may be a little awkward at first getting used to the brush, but it will be worth It and you will enjoy your beautiful voluminous hair whenever you want!
I am excited to see how many of you try this at home and enjoy it as much as I do! If you would like to purchase Monat products by signing as a VIP you will enjoy the befits of 15% off . Links are available down below. #ad
